Just kidding
Actually, last week’s discussion (our best so far, methinks) was just getting rolling when we ran out of time, so we’ll continue with the same topic this week. I’m learning a lot and I’m also learning a lot about all of you. BTW: if any of you have any information on our topic that you would like to bring with you, feel free to share it. Unlike the picture above (sorry, but I just HAD to use it – LOL), we welcome your stories, resources, thoughts & convictions. And the discussion doesn’t have to wait until the group meets. Feel free to post your thoughts here on the website. We have all of this whiz-bang technology; might as well use it.
Angels & Demons has been a great discussion and its made me start asking my friends and coworkers what their personal beliefs are on the subject. WOW, have I been getting some crazy answers! It seems like everyone knows someone who’s been haunted by a ghost at one time or another. At any rate, its been interesting to hear what people think on the subject.
As we continue the discussion this next time we’ll focus a little more on the angelic part, but we’ll also discuss what the Word says about “Death & the Intermediate State”. Yes, I too know some folks who have interesting views on the subject. If we look to the Bible as our manual for faith and practice we won’t fall prey to fables and misinformation. Be ready to talk about some of the things you’ve encountered this week. I’m enjoying our discussions as well.
I’ll never forget having coffee with a music pastor friend of mine that happens to be pentecostal and ordained in the Church of God. We were speaking on hell and I made the comment that the reality of eternal damnation apart from God was a driving force in my decision to be in ministry full time. He looked at me and said, “Honestly?! You think a loving God would allow anyone to suffer in an everlasting hell forever?! I guess you also beieve that He would allow you as a born again child of His to be tortured on this earth by demons too?!” It was a real eye opener! I just thought every evangelical believed in eternal hell and demons, etc.!
